Equity is Multifaceted

Challenge
The Puget Sound philanthropic community is raising the bar on equity, diversity and inclusion, (E/D/I), outcomes for grant recipients. This means clients expect PSGA's members to bring write about E/D/I, whether they have that sophisticated level of knowledge or not.
Solution
I designed and co-presented a training with Chanya Allen, to help grant writers align their work with clients' best-practice expectations. Entitled, “Writing About Equity with Confidence & Credibility”. As part of the event, I also organized and facilitated a panel discussion with funding officers from private and public foundations.
Results
The training for 30 members sold out faster than any previous PSGA event, and I've been asked to develop and present a deeper seminar in 2020. See more Training Results

Lee's training gave me invaluable insight into the subjects of equity and inclusion, and a depth of understanding that I desperately needed to be successful in my work. I have more confidence around the complex issues of racial justice and racial equity, and am eternally grateful to Lee for enlightening me in so many ways.
